‘Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called’ 1 Timothy 6.12
Many people would love life to be different. Often it is a feeling that everything would be so much better if only life had dealt them a better hand; to live in a richer part of the world, have a closer family, more access to education and employment – the list could go on.
Whoever you are and whatever your circumstances, you have control over some aspects of your life. You can choose whether you take hold of the life God has for you, or let it slip through your fingers. You are free to take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, or accept the forgiveness God offers you. Today you can choose to believe and stand upon the limitless love that God has for you, and really believe the promise of Jesus to be with you always. No-one else can make these decisions for you; they require a choice from you about whether or not to take hold of them for yourself.
Rather than simply accepting what comes along, make some choices now: “I choose to believe that I am totally forgiven by God and that his love for me is so great that it is beyond comprehension. I chose to believe that Jesus is standing with me at all times today and I choose to take hold of eternal life.”
