‘One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.’ Proverbs 13.7
What do you really have and how do you take stock of it? There are any number of ways in which you can try to assess your worth; looking at your bank balance, the possessions you have accumulated, your achievements, the number of friends you have, your education and the knowledge you have acquired. An inventory of each of these might come up with a different scale by which to assess your wealth.
However one aspect of wealth that is often overlooked is spiritual wealth, which is all about what you have through your relationship with God; or perhaps a better way to put it is what you have through his relationship with you.
The riches that can never be taken away from you all stem from the fact that your Father longs for you. He sent Jesus, who willingly gave himself, so that nothing can separate you from your heavenly Father. You carry within you the constant companionship, presence and power of the Holy Spirit. God is for you! He is on your side today, and because of this, whatever else you may possess or lack, you have a wealth beyond measure.
