‘For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ 1 Thessalonians 5.9
Many people live under the impression that God is angry with them, and even more believe that God views them with indifference. Even Christians are often pretty convinced that God has nothing special planned for them. Yet this couldn’t be further from the truth. God’s dream for all of us is that we receive salvation through Jesus.
Salvation is not just to do with our ultimate dwelling with God in heaven, but is also about our lives now; our relationship with Jesus and his intervention in our lives on earth. This is his dream, not just for some people but for all of us.
Take a moment to sit quietly, and for a short while try to focus on God’s pleasure in you; after all, he sent Jesus for you. He is not only concerned about other people, but also about you. Dwell on this truth: God’s dream is that you experience the touch of Jesus on your life today. You were chosen for this and that’s why Jesus came.
What can turn this into a reality is whether or not you are willing to believe it.
