Finding the presence of Jesus

At The Christian Healing Mission, one of our highest priorities is to bring people into the presence of Jesus, so that they can find the healing that flows from him.

You certainly don’t have to come to the Mission to come into his presence. Find a quiet place and seek him for yourself – follow this simple ABC.

A – Abba

When asked about prayer, Jesus said, “say ‘Father’” (Luke 11:2). Spend a few moments in the worship of Father God, who has adopted us so that he can pour out his love upon us. Worship him and be open to his love for us.

B – Be in the presence of Jesus

Jesus promised that he would always be with us (Matthew 28:20). Let’s take that seriously.

Ask him to help you focus on where he is for you right now.

Where would you say he is?
What is he like?
What is he trying to show you about himself?

C – Communicate

As you are with Jesus – what is it you want to say to him? Communication is two-sided – what is it Jesus wants to say to you? We often think that it is hard to hear his voice. It isn’t, but it may come in unexpected ways. It may not be a voice at all, but come in the form of a thought that drops into our mind, or a picture that is suddenly there, or a Bible verse, or song that suddenly comes to us. Write these things down, let a conversation develop.

I find doing your meditations last thing at night really beneficial. I have been doing them now for about three nights, and already there’s a change in the atmosphere in my home, and also I too am feeling really uplifted.

    Thank you very much.

The ABC idea was mentioned in church on Sunday and I already do something similar when I pray. I find it particularly difficult to relate to Jesus because of wounds in the areas of companionship and communication. It is easier for me to focus on Father God and the Holy Spirit. However, on Sunday, I saw Jesus standing in front of me with his hands stretched out towards me, inviting me to move towards him. I know you don’t know me, but will you pray I will take that step? Please.
